๐Ÿ“ฐ The Big Picture

Voters casting ballots in election booths

American voters are heading to polling locations across all 50 states today to decide control of Congress and 36 governorships. Overseas, the U.S. military conducted overnight strikes against Iranian missile positions on Qeshm Island, while regional diplomats push to prevent further escalation in the Strait of Hormuz. In Eastern Europe, ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ Russian forces launched a major wave of 289 attack drones and 76 missiles targeting Ukrainian energy infrastructure and civilian sites, even as diplomatic envoys confirmed that trilateral peace talks will resume next week in Abu Dhabi.

Since 1879, Crane & Co. in Dalton, Massachusetts has served as the exclusive paper supplier for the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing, producing a durable substrate made of 75 percent cotton and 25 percent linen. Rather than printing security threads onto finished sheets, the mill embeds tiny red and blue synthetic fibers directly into the wet pulp during manufacturing. This mechanical process ensures the anti-counterfeiting elements are integrated throughout the interior structure of every bill before any ink is applied.

๐Ÿบ The August 1791 Plantation Sabotage of Saint-Domingue
Saint-Domingue (๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡น Haiti) ยท 1791
On August 21, 1791, enslaved laborers across the northern plain of Saint-Domingue launched a coordinated uprising against ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท French colonial plantation owners. Organized through secret gatherings led by Dutty Boukman and Cรฉcile Fatiman, insurgents systematically set fire to over 1,000 sugar and coffee estates within two weeks to break the financial engine of European slavery. The destruction disrupted Atlantic commodity trades and forced the French National Convention to decree total emancipation across its colonies in 1794, paving the way for the establishment of independent ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡น Haiti in 1804.
